I've deployed the fix for [[bugzilla:61762|bug 61762]], and per the TODO in [[MediaWiki:Gadget-VisualEditorByDefault.js]] I've disabled it by commenting out all of its code. Could you do the rest of the cleanup regarding removing the gadget or making it non-default or whatever needs to be done?
